A Love Like Parsons

a love like parsons

Stephen and I officially met during a shared free period at La Salle Academy in 2003. Side Note: I’m smiling as I’m writing this. He was a Senior and I was Junior. He was my high school crush and didn’t know until 3 years later…

We reconnected through Facebook and started dating the summer of 2006. We were long distance for quite a number of years but it was all worth it.

Stephen proposed December 2010, getting special permission to open up our high school, where we enjoyed a romantic picnic in the library where we shared free period together all those years ago. We married in 2011 and moved into our first home together in Arkansas later that year.

In 2017, we found out we were expecting our first child, a little girl.

Below are links to snapshots, journal entries and Facebook posts about our daughter, Florence Gloria. The ‘Losing Florence’ section has pictures of when we were at the hospital and when we finally held her in our arms. I’m not sharing all of this to evoke shock. I’m doing it to share our daughter and to show others going through their own loss that you’re not alone, you’ll be okay, and that it’s okay to openly love a child who died no matter the age or time of gestation.

To the bereaved parents reading this,

do what you need to do to find that peace and give yourself grace. Surround yourself with people who love you. Tell your story.
